About the Eastern Iowa Sleep Center

The Eastern Iowa Sleep Center (EISC) is located on the 2nd floor of the Physicians' Clinic of Iowa building in Cedar Rapids. EISC was opened in September 2007 as a partnership between St. Luke's Hospital, Mercy Medical Center, and the Physicians' Clinic of Iowa, with sleep studies arranged through a specialist or a primary care doctor.

Since its inception, EISC has met a significant need for sleep studies in Eastern Iowa, doubling the available sleep bed space in Cedar Rapids. With our 7 night a week, 20-room facility, EISC conducts sleep studies for more than a hundred people each week, with a wait time for sleep studies typically less than two weeks.

Patients and health care providers in the area benefit from EISC's outstanding service with our efficient scheduling, thorough record-keeping, and coordinated care. Additionally, the standardized scores and interpretation of studies we provide have led to quicker and more accurate sleep study results.

EISC specializes in sleep related breathing disorders such as obstructive sleep apnea, continuous positive airway pressure (CPAP), narcolepsy, nocturnal seizures, sleepwalking, restless leg syndrome, and periodic limb movement. Please see our disorders page for more information.

Each sleep study is conducted by a trained sleep technician. The study is then evaluated by a sleep-trained physician, who coordinates with the referring health care provider to outline an effective treatment plan.
